STRACHUR SMIDDY, STRACHUR
Step back in time to days when transport relied on horses and the blacksmith's forge. The Strachur Smiddy has a long history, the first recorded reference being in 1791 and it functioned until the mid-1950s. It is located between Loch Fyne and The Clyde, a busy route for merchants, packmen, metalworkers, chiefs and their messengers. It was restored in 1997 as a museum.
