As we draw to the end of our second quarter and reflect on our progress and the productions we have worked on, we can confidently conclude that it has been another accomplished few months. Throughout these past three months we have provided location supplies to some exemplary productions and acquired some new kit. We have a new Honda 7KVa generator, a Honeywagon, brand new 3x3 EZ-ups and make-up mirrors available for hire on top of all of our existing kit. We have thoroughly enjoyed working with some superb productions sourcing honeywagons, tower lights and euroboards for Elizabeth Is Missing, providing location kit and generators for Voyageur Productions who were filming in Aberdeen, a generator for Creation Stories filming at King Tuts and location kit for a music video for a high profile pop star for LS Productions. We delivered a honeywagon and traffic cones to Glenshee for LS Productions and have provided a whole range of services for a BBC drama filming around West Scotland. They have benefited from our multi-functional services which has saved them resources, time and money combining security, traffic management, honeywagon hire, greenroom hire and location kit. We’ve completed our first quarter of trading since opening our doors on 7th May and we’re delighted to report that we managed to secure numerous contracts and helped out on many exciting productions in this time. From supplying 4x4 and trailer hire along with an experienced driver for HBO’s Succession, providing gator and trailer hire for CBeebies’ Molly & Mack, sourcing kit, honeywagon hire and an experienced driver to tow and manage a 40k generator for an MTP’s E45 commercial, organising location kit, quad and trailer hire with an experienced driver for an MTP Ladbrokes Commercial, and supplying location kit for a photoshoot for 24 Productions. We have been working closely with the Locations team on Kudos' Deadwater Fell sourcing whatever location requirements they need at short notice to support them as best we can and save them time and resources. So far we have provided them with marquee hire, kit hire, honeywagon hire, quad and trailer hire with an experienced driver and green room hire. Our biggest contract for a new dark comedy drama Guilt by Happy Tramp North for the new BBC Scotland channel used us to source all of their location services - security, traffic management, Kit Hire, cleaning and maintenance, green room hire, quad and trailer hire and took advantage of one of our location assistant kit bundles. This benefitted them by saving time and resources sourcing the services individually, as well as reducing the amount of PO’s sent and invoices received. We are so grateful for all of the clients who enquired about our services and the projects that we have worked on, and we really look forward to securing more contracts and helping out more productions in the next quarter and beyond. We had a great time at the 2019 Celtic Media Festival in Aviemore, met some fantastic people, soaked up a lot of the conversations and presentations from some superb speakers, and thoroughly enjoyed all of the food and drinks. Celtic Media Festival is held over three days and a brilliant way of immersing yourself amongst the media professionals from all of the Celtic countries. It’s an annual celebration of broadcasting and film talent that is supported by broadcast, film, cultural and economic development opportunities. This year, we had the privilege of watching the screenings for Eminent Monsters and Dark Sense and the chance to mingle with the producers over drinks afterwards. With such a full programme it was impossible to go to all of the sessions, the ones we did visit were incredibly interesting and we took away a lot of valuable information. Page to screen was an intriguing conversation about the process of adapting a story from script or book to the screen. Some of things that we learned from this was that it’s events like this one that is key to breaking down the boundaries between writers and producers. As a writer persistence is key to your success and you can make any adaptation successful with a big marketing push. Making money from Celtic Content was a great conversation with agents who were talking through tips to help make your production a success. The best strategy is to keep looking for good content to sell, if the story is good it will fly. Opportunities are everywhere with Netflix and Amazon Prime you have to have the creative imagination to get it out there. You should never bank a series after it has been aired and consider an international market and it doesn’t matter what language your programme is in for any market. It’s important to find the right sales agent who in genuinely interested in your show to sell it. Local office, Global audience was a live interview with Kieran Doherty from Stellify Media a successful production company from Northern Ireland. We got to see clips from their new Netflix series Flinch which is a comedy torture game show set in a barn. Kieran explained how they came up with the concept and then created a taster video of it in a wooden barn to pitch in a 26-minute slot to Netflix. The event finished on the Thursday with the Gala Awards night. It was extremely well organised and coordinated with a great turn out. We would highly recommend going in 2020.

We were asked to provide a city centre road control in Edinburgh yesterday for a BBC drama. These can take a lot of organising and attention to detail and our supplier Crexcell Ltd are extremely reliable and ensure no stone is unturned. The day was a big success!
